This was a client project at Chronos Interactive. As sole UX/UI designer, I collaborated with SKYDEX's marketing and leadership teams and the Chronos dev team to complete the project.

Overview

SKYDEX, a leader in impact mitigation technology, aimed to pivot from a primary focus on military applications to expanding their appeal across diverse industries. Their site redesign emphasized modern branding, streamlined user engagement pathways, and messaging crafted to showcase the versatility of SKYDEX’s innovative solutions.

Problem

The existing SKYDEX site struggled to convey the company’s position as a technology innovator, leaving potential OEM partners unclear about its engineering expertise and solution versatility. Outdated design elements, including dense text blocks and shallow information architecture, created an unengaging user experience. Additionally, the lack of compelling case studies and data-driven storytelling undermined confidence among potential customers and stakeholders.

Solution

The redesign addressed these challenges through a comprehensive strategy that combined content architecture, branding refresh, and optimized user engagement. The new site architecture and content strategy were built around three key pillars—Activate, Inform, and Engage—to guide users through SKYDEX’s value proposition. Detailed pages showcased SKYDEX’s engineering and prototyping capabilities, innovative geometries, and successful partnerships across various industries. The visual design also received a significant refresh, replacing dark, dense text blocks with light backgrounds, larger typography, and bespoke photography.
